Eyebrows-One Woman's Journey to Triumph
My friend Trulie is pretty. Of course, she is beautiful on the inside and all that, but, for the sake of this post, we're going to ignore her inner beauty and focus on her face. I'm here to report that Trulie's face just got a little bit prettier, at least by the metric of popular culture. How did she do it? Trulie recently made the brave, often grueling decision to grow out her eyebrows. In public.
If you're female and have any access to the media, you are aware that big brows are back with a vengeance. Cara Delevingne alone has set the eyebrow world on it's ear.
For a long time, many of us thought we looked more "grown up" with plucked or waxed brows. Now looking "grown up" is not necessarily the goal. Beauty experts tell us that full brows frame the face in a youthful way and, if done well, can mean you don't need as much makeup. I am in for both of those things.
So was Trulie. Here is some photographic evidence of her transformation.
Trulie had the final step of her brow transformation completed by a woman named Michelle Lemoncello-Schak for Anastasia at the Nordstrom in OakBrook. Why not pay her a visit?!
How to make the most of your brows:
- Stick with a natural approach. Your eyebrow has a natural place it wants to arch. Keep the arch there. Keep as much of the the natural eyebrow shape that makes sense. We all have a rogue hair or two. Pluck those but keep the rest.
- Use a pencil or other product to fill in brows and keep them tidy. I use Anastasia Perfect Brow Pencil. It has a brush on one side and great, natural colors:
- If you don't like a pencil, I also like this liquid one by Benefit called Gimme Brow Volumizing Fiber Gel:

Trulie says the growing out phase "wasn't that bad" and I think it was totally worth the results!! Hopefully Trulie's journey is an inspiration to you if you are thinking of growing out your brows! Do it!
